THE ARDUOUS ERRAND

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.  “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.


Vasco da Gama spent 2 to 29 March 1498 in the vicinity of Mozambique Island. Arab-controlled territory on the East African coast was an integral part of the network of trade in the Indian Ocean. Fearing the local population would be hostile to Christians, da Gama impersonated a Muslim and gained audience with the Sultan of Mozambique —Wikipedia.


There are so many people who risked their lives for the propagation of the gospel and true purpose during the age of discovery. From Europe to the Americas, From Europe the Africa, From Europe to Asia, spreading the gospel and the message about the Kingdom of God had been a major motivating factor during the age of discovery and beyond.
A BBC Ghanaian broadcaster, Kormla Dumor, had to forgo his vision of becoming a medical doctor so as to become a journalist. Nelson Mandela did not choose to be a practicing lawyer and had to forgo it in order to champion the liberation vision of his people. The regular classroom study could not make Thomas Edison the Thomas Edison we know. C.H. Spurgeon became  a renowned preacher because he responded to the call.


Abraham had to live his father’s house so as to become the father of all nations
Sometimes it becomes difficult to go for if you don’t forgo but forgoing is not all that easy

Zacchaeus had an absolute turn ‘ But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

The two brothers saw the need to shift ‘immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.’


Know when your true purpose calls for you and respond without hesitation.
