The basic principles of life

BIBLE 4

MATTHEW 5     IN FOCUS

how do we stay blessed?

what is meant by blessings?

is meekness mediocrity?

for how long must we endure persecution?

Who is with a pure heart?

A solid foundation for the growth, sustenance and power of the followers of Christ Jesus needed to be set. An epitome of true living and the very lessons of eternal  livelihood was due to be known. Who wants to be blessed?

It is out of place for a christian to stay in curse. Jesus Christ said ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.’ The rules to obtain the utmost blessings of God Almighty was laid down for Christians by the Lord Jesus Christ. Purity of heart ( a heart without blemish), meekness of life, Mercifulness,  living for the sake of righteousness and the Kingdom of God, a peace maker.

Wherein lies a Christian without purity? where is a christian who  shows no mercy? Where is the christian who is persecuted for his own selfish sake but not because of the Kingdom of God? Where is the christian with wrong motives? Where is the christian who takes revenge instead of leaning on the Lords vengeance?

‘You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

It may never be easy to attract the blessings of God in a tempting and evil environment of our days. Selfishness and self gratifications anchors the daily deeds of mankind. Trials and temptations of nerve tickling and negative thought provoking await us each day the day breaks calling to attract our respond  but Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.”

In the most tempting moments of life, stay blessed by obeying the will of God instead of self gratification. The disciples sang and praised God even in persecution time. ”But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened.

STAY BLESSED

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
 — Philippians 4:4
