integrity and commitment…. staying assertive

BIBLE 4

GENESIS 14  IN FOCUS

But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “With raised hand I have sworn an oath to the Lord, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, 23 that I will accept nothing belonging to you, not even a thread or the strap of a sandal, so that you will never be able to say, ‘I made Abram rich.

THINK ABOUT IT:

What shall you trade your integrity for?

Why do you do what you do?

What influences your choice?

Who are you?

What do you stand for?

What do you fall for?

We are living in a corruptible world. We are living in a world filled with great temptations to slip. We are living in a world that  seeks to question our integrity each day.

Job said  “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman. It may seem so enticing to respond to the alluring ways of the world towards destruction. The grace of God and tenacity must keep us focused on the laws of God. We must bind Joshua’s admonition on our hearts. ”Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8

Abram knew his God. Abram had an integrity to protect. Material gain could not be his priority. How do you protect your integrity?

This is a world where you may look odd if you do not go by the ways of the masses. This is a world where we may be under pressure to exchange God for materialism. Who are you?  ‘In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.‘  Matthew 5:16

PONDER:

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.  James 1: 12
