Hatred and jealousy

prayer 2

GENESIS    37     IN    FOCUS

18′ When they saw him from a distance and before he came close to them, they plotted against him to put him to death.’

You shall always attract hatred from they that think you are better than them. You shall surely get stones from those who shall see your aspirations as a threat to their dignity. You shall never go free if you really want to question the long standing status quo.

Joseph had a vision. Yes, he had a vision of being great one day. Joseph, as young and innocent as he was thought he was saying something for applaud and admiration but, ney! He was calling for jealousy and hatred instead. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?” His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

Words we speak may have different meaning in the minds of the recipient of the words. You may never know how someone is interpreting that business plan you are speaking of. You may never know how someone is thinking of a different plan because of what you spoke. The three wise men who went to King Herod went there with a clear conscience, to seek for the new born King but Herod had a different interpretation of their words. Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.’ … When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under,… Matthew 2

‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose’. Joseph could have struggled with his brothers. He could have fight for his right but, he humbled himself in trying times. God has a plan for us and we must be humble enough to see the plans come true.Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. . Our strength may fail us but it may take the grace and favor of God to let our dreams come to pass.

Sometimes the most uncanny situations in our lives are there to shield us from the most deadly situations of life. The redemption of Joseph came in a disguised form. Instead of him facing death, he was sold. Judah said to his brothers, “What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood? Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood.” His brothers agreed. Least did Josephs brothers know that they were selling him for the fulfillment of his dream. The world can turn so be watchful. The slave can be a master and the master can be a slave. Your dreams will not die, only trust in God and be submissive to his authority.

Your dreams will not die, only understand that in all your afflictions God will be your provider and rescuer! Your dreams will not die!

Do not let bitterness take root in you. Jealousy and hatred can bring a lot of had I knows. Be careful of what you envy. Be careful when hatred comes into your heart. Kill jealousy before it takes control over your mind. Do not touch people after God’s heart!

God shall always open a door of escape for his  children when they meet trying times. He is faithful and all His promises are yes and Amen!

Joseph humbled himself even in the face of death. When you meet trials of life, remember humility, trust in God and do not depart from your vision. We all dream of greatness but, we must understand what it takes to be great.

PONDER :                   Joseph humbled himself during trying times, what about me?
