The mighty power of God

prayer 2

EXODUS   9   AND    10  IN     FOCUS

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me?

Humility is not just the best route to the top, but it is also the ultimate key to stay at the top! Pharaoh thought he was the most Superior but there was a mighty power that superseded the power of men. There is a Superior power that controls the heart of men. There is a Superior power that directs the power of men. ‘ The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.’ Proverbs 21. How can the creation challenge the Creator? oh mortal man, know that there is an Immortal God with a mighty power!

It is written ‘ 16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:  17 A proud look,. Pharaoh thought he was resisting God so that his people would know that he was superior but least did he know that there was a mighty hand that was controlling him ( Pharaoh) . When you hear the word of God, obey! or you will instead allow God to direct you in a way which may seem right to you but with a bitter end! We must understand that it takes only the mighty power of God to do mighty things. Though Pharaohs magicians tried to challenge the power of God, they came to a realization that they were doing it in futility. ‘11 The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils that were on them and on all the Egyptians.’   8: 19 the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.

Pharaoh could have avoided all the suffering the people of Egypt had to go through. He could have surrendered to the will of God upon hearing the message Moses delivered to him!

5:The Lord set a time and said, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this in the land.” And the next day the Lord did it: All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died. Pharaoh investigated and found that not even one of the animals of the Israelites had died. Yet his heart was unyielding and he would not let the people go.

God knows His own! His eyes are upon  they that obey His will. Do you want to attract the blessings of God? do His will and be submissive to His commands! Solomon wrote ” …4So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man.  5Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.…”

We ought to emulate the example Jesus Christ left for us. He humbled Himself to the will of His father. Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work” John 3 :34

Paul wrote  in Philippians 2:

Imitating Christ’s Humility

1Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

5In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6Who, being in very naturea God,

did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;

7rather, he made himself nothing

by taking the very natureb of a servant,

being made in human likeness.

8And being found in appearance as a man,

he humbled himself

by becoming obedient to death—

even death on a cross!

9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place

and gave him the name that is above every name,

10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.

Do Everything Without Grumbling

12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

14Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”c Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky 16as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. 17But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. 18So you too should be glad and rejoice with me.

How long will you refuse to humble yourself God?

How long will you continue to disobey the will of God?

will you be the reason why God’s anger will cause the pain of others?

HYMN BY:  Judson W. VAn de Venter ( 1855-1939

All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all,
I surrender all.
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.
