The Tabernacle

EXODUS 26 IN FOCUS

Make the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by a skilled worker. All the curtains are to be the same size—twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.[a] Join five of the curtains together, and do the same with the other five.

God demanded a tabernacle from the Israelites. A tabernacle to serve as His Most Holly place. Today God demands a different dwelling place from us, our very heart, mind and body as a whole. Jesus said ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.— Matthew 15:8. Paul wrote ‘ 15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.…

God chose the Israelites and today, He has chosen as to be His glory and to glorify Him, Halleluiah! He wishes to dwell in us. He wish to make His Word dwell richly in us. He wish our bodies become His temple. He wish we least do what we want and instead do what His spirit wishes us to do. Apostle Paul Asked  ‘ Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own’. He gave the Israelites a laid down procedure for making the temple and He has outlined how we must live our lives  today in His word.

As Jesus left the temple and was walking away, His disciples came up to Him to point out its buildings. 2“Do you see all these things? He replied. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be toppled.”   and He said, ”23But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him. 24God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”…

God wanted the Israelites to separate the Holy place from the Holy of Holy place. He said,

33 Hang the curtain from the clasps and place the ark of the covenant law behind the curtain. The curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. The church is a Holy place of God but the Most Holy Place the presence of God wants to dwell today is our bodies.

Apostle Paul admonished the Romans ‘ Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.…’

God seeks for a  Most Holy Place in our bodies today. God seeks for our total commitment to His purpose in our days. God seeks for our total lives. Who will respond today? Who Will make his heart the Most Holy Place for God? Who will make known the glory of God to the world? God is watching! Jesus is waiting! For a total mind and body to His service! Arise !!!

HYMN

WHEN I  SURVEY THE WONDROUS CROSS

BY: ISAAC WATT, PUB.  17O7

  1. When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.
  2. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.
  3. See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down!
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?
  4. Were the whole realm of nature mine,
    That were a present far too small;
    Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
