faith and doubt

BIBLE 4

GENESIS 18 IN FOCUS

So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”

THINK ABOUT IT

how well do you trust God?

why do you doubt God?

what is the promise of God for your life?

what do you attract to yourself?

Zachariah had found favor in God’s sight. The one to prepare the way for the Messiah shall come through him but he doubted and he became dumb.” And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time”

God works in His own time.  ”Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do” as the book of Isaiah 55: 8 rightly put on  records  ‘‘ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD

There are so many people who doubt God. There are so many people who want their time to be that of God. There are so many people who cannot wait for the right time. So  many people take decisions which they do come to a later realization that patience could have been the best option.

The wife of Abraham doubted what God could do. She might be pardoned however because in the human sense, it was impossible to give birth at her age. Jesus said “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”. He created the planets. He created the air we breathe. He created the land on which we dwell. He created us. What can’t He do?. What have you been waiting for from God? Let the will of God be done.

PONDER:  ”And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”    — Hebrews 11: 6

HYMN: TRUST AND OBEY

  1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.
  2. Refrain:
    Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
  3. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.
  4. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
    But is blessed if we trust and obey.
  5. But we never can prove the delights of His love
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.
  6. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
    What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
    Never fear, only trust and obey.
